I haven't draw much. This is a drawing of Truong Vu that I have drawn a couple of weeks ago. It's quick and fast. I used my webcam to take a picture of it. The picture is too huge to scan it in. The picture is too light, so I thought I darken it up a little bit through PhotoShop.
Does it look like Truong Vu??

but eyes not similar, brows not similar, mouth not similar... All together - very similar!!! VERY!!! I can't understand how can it be!

I can not draw at all, but I like to look to the photos and memorize all details. I am very amazed by the fact that almost all details are inaccurate but the picture... looks like Truong Vu :-)

Monkey King looks like Dicky version of Monkey King... I read the JTTW book first - so Wukong is monkey for me, not a man with fur. In your Monkey King picture I like details - especially hair, pleats on clothes, plume, and eyes and gaze (I mean - how he looks to me, I feel that he can look) I do not like some other details - strait lines on the front part of his clothes and jingubang. I love his jingubang very much... At least it is iron with gold rings, not gold...
How did you draw - what paints did you use (or flowmasters, etc)?

NK, please bang my head with something heavy...
lol... I draw it using Dicky image. So it look like him. I use Photoshop to edit it. The original drawing is using pencil. I just use Photoshop to color it in. And the straight line is because of Photoshop. I can't draw with a mouse very good, so I use its Line tool. :) I love my monkey king drawing.... too.. I want to put that picture on a T-shirt... I will do that... in the near future. I love Sun Wukong!!!
BTW, do you know Truong Vu?
I do not know how answer the question if I know Truong Vu .... Some months ago one of my friends gave me CDs with songs of Asian artists. I listened to them, but did not copy because did not like them much and returned the discs. But there was the photo of the singer on one of the discs... I thougt that his face is interesting, out of the ordinary, and I scrutinized him some time. Then I found your blog ... When I saw your drawing of the Truong Vu, I felt that I once saw this man. When I finally decided to look for his pictures on Internet, I realized that I once had his CD. I listened to quite a few of his songs in the last couple of days ... he has a pleasant voice, but I do not like the songs - not my style. I have no musical ear, so I just like the rhythmic, fast songs, nice to dance (I do not like to listen to music sitting or lying down - I'm always dancing, or at least walking). Also I appreciate songs with interesting (for me) lyrics - I like a play on words and when the lyrics tune my worldview or momentary mood.
